How do I get started with Expert Learners?

To get started, simply contact us with details about your learning goals or areas where support is needed.

We will match you with a tutor based on your subject requirements, learning style, and academic needs.

We take time to understand your needs and perspectives so we can make sure that we match your child with the very best tutoring for their needs.

If you would like to change tutors at any time throughout your sessions, you can.

Once matched, we will help you set up an initial session through our platform, Tutorcruncher.

  • Our tutors are flexible and sessions can be arranged to fit around your child’s commitments. Sessions are delivered online using easy to set-up and universal technology.
  • Once your tutor has been matched they may complete a detailed assessment of your child’s individual needs and academic progress, helping them to develop specific goals for each and every key stage 3 tutoring session.
  • Our tutors can provide thorough written feedback after every session so you can see how your child is doing and what they will continue to work on. This supports them in taking control over their own learning. Sessions can also be recorded to allow your child to watch them back later and revise the topics covered.

TutorCruncher is the platform we use to manage all aspects of tutoring, including:

  • Scheduling: Your lesson will be booked and scheduled on the TutorCruncher calendar.

 

  • Payments: Payments are securely processed through the platform. You can choose from various payment methods and set up automatic billing.

 

  • Lesson Summaries: After each session, your tutor will provide a brief summary of the lesson, highlighting key concepts covered, areas of improvement, and homework (if any).

We conduct all our lessons via Zoom. Once your lesson is booked, you will receive a Zoom link for the session. Ensure you have Zoom installed and a stable internet connection for the best learning experience.

At Expert Learners, we take great care in matching students with the right tutor. We assess:

  • The subject or skill you need help with.

 

  • Your learning style and preferences.

 

  • The tutor’s expertise and teaching approach. This personalised matching ensures that you get the best support possible for your academic or personal learning goals.

Once you have been matched with a tutor, the tutor will get in contact to find a time that works for both you and the tutor.

From then, you will be in contact with the tutor over your email.

Payments are made through Tutorcruncher. After a lesson is booked, the session fee is automatically billed according to your payment preference (credit/debit card or bank transfer).

You can also view your payment history and upcoming invoices through the platform. All transactions are secure and encrypted.

After each lesson, your tutor will provide a short lesson summary through TutorCruncher. This may include:

  • Key topics covered during the session.
  • Feedback on the student’s progress.
  • Suggestions for improvement or additional study resources.
  • Details about any homework or tasks to complete before the next session.

 

You can access these summaries at any time, helping you keep track of your learning progress.

We strive to make sure you have the best possible learning experience. If, for any reason, you feel that the tutor isn’t the right fit, please contact us, and we will be happy to rematch you with another tutor based on your needs.

Yes, you can cancel a session, but please note that we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel less than 24 hours before a scheduled session, you may be charged for the session. This policy helps respect the tutor’s time and ensures smooth scheduling.

All our tutors undergo a rigorous selection process. They are highly qualified teachers in their respective fields, with experience in teaching. We check DBS and we continually monitor feedback from students to ensure tutors are meeting high standards.
